Privacy Statement
Commitment
The Arlington
Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber) respects your
right to privacy and will not sell or share any
information you provide us while using this site
with any third party unless you give us prior
consent and except as set forth herein. Your ability to make
informed choices about the uses of your
information is important to us. This page
explains the Chamber’s policy regarding the
online collection of personal information. The
terms of this privacy policy apply to
information collected from this site unless
different terms are specified in an online or
other form or contract we provide you. This
policy may change from time to time; if it does,
we will keep the current policy posted in this
section.
Information We
Collect from this Web Site and Its Uses
When you
visit our web site, some information such as
your Internet address, Internet Service
Provider, operating system, the site from which
you linked, and the time and date of your visit
and inquiries may be collected automatically as
part of the software operation of the site. This
information is not linked to personally
identifiable information. We use this
information to compile aggregate statistics
about the total number of daily visitors to our
site, the pages most frequently visited, how
long people stay at each page, user traffic
patterns, and related activity data. This
allows us to understand our customer’s needs and
to develop products and services to serve those
needs.
We also
may collect personal information, which you
provide us when you place an inquiry, an event
registration, or contact us through our “Get In
Touch With Us” page. This personal information
includes whatever information you choose to
provide.
The
personal information we collect online is used
to process your requests, to provide you the
highest quality of service, and to understand
your needs so that we can serve you better.
This site
is hosted by a third party that has access to
the information. While the Chamber cannot
guarantee that the trust between parties will
not be breached by our vendor, it is our belief
that they will never use any of the user/member
information for their own gain or promotion.
For
member organizations of the Arlington Chamber of
Commerce and their representatives, some of the
information collected on the web site has
already been provided to us. That information
is at times shared with the general public and
other members and is restricted to names of
organizations and representatives, telephone
numbers, addresses, and types of business.
Never are fax numbers and/or e-mail addresses
shared with the public. Because this is a
volunteer driven organization, at times members
fax numbers and e-mail addresses are shared with
member volunteers who may need to contact you in
the course of doing the Chamber’s business (i.e.
a committee chair who sends out meeting
notices). Such volunteers are directed to not
use the information for organizational or
personal purposes.
Links
This site
contains links to other Internet sites. The
Chamber has no control over the content of those
sites, the accuracy of any information
presented, nor do we control the information
collection, distribution, or privacy policies of
any sites other than this one. The Chamber is
not responsible for any additional information
you provide to these other sites, and we
encourage you to become familiar with their
practices before disclosing information to them.
Opting Out
If, at
any time, you wish to stop receiving information
(whether totally or via specific method of
communication) from the Chamber, or if you have
comments or questions about these policies or
this site, please email us or send
a letter to the Chamber office.
