Sovereign Wealth Fund &
International Trade Summit
Congressman Jim Moran invites our members to attend an
international
Sovereign Wealth Fund and International Trade Summit
in Arlington on
October
8th from
8:30am-12pm hosted by the Middle East Council of American
Chambers of Commerce (MECACC) and the European Council of
American Chambers of Commerce (ECACC) for the Northern
Virginia business community. MECACC and ECACC are both
umbrella organizations of the US Chamber of Commerce for their
respective regions of the world.
The summit will take place
at the National Rural Electric Corporation Association (NRECA)
at 4301 Wilson Boulevard. The purpose of the event is to
forge business relationships between potential exporters from
the Northern Virginia area and Americans doing business with
the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) nations and Europe. The
event will focus on Sovereign Wealth Fund investment and
resources available to businesses wishing to export goods and
services to both the GCC and European Nations.

57th Fall Outing
The Chamber's Fall Outing will be held on
Monday, October 6 from
9:30am-6:00pm at the
Westwood Country Club,

Small Business Roundtable
The
Chamber's monthly Small Business Roundtable is next Wednesday,
September 24 from 11:45am-1:15pm at the Chamber. This event
offers an important educational opportunity to smaller
businesses. The roundtable discussion, facilitated by
Jim Whelan, expert
strategic planner with the
ProActive Corporation of America, allows business
people to learn from their peers and knowledgeable experts for
free!
This month's topic: A Visit
from the IRS
In April 2008 the IRS launched a campaign to help small
businesses. The September Roundtable will have an IRS
representative discussing topics such as: Tax Issues for
Limited Liability Companies, Independent Contractor or
Employee, and E-File for Businesses.
